Description

For about 10 km, the D117 road connects the village of Pont d'Alies (traffic circle north of Axat) with the village of Quillan in the north. The road leads through the Gorge de la Pierre-Lys and past the villages Saint-Martin-Lys and Belvianes-et-Cavirac. About in the middle, one passes through a very narrow section with high and steep rock walls, the Défilé de la Pierre-Lys. The road, including the tunnels, is well maintained and easy to drive. The road is located in the region of Occitania and there in the department of Aude.
