Congosto de Ventamillo, Road N260, Huesca, Aragon, Spain – by motorcycle

Description

About 40,000 years ago, the Ésera glacier created a gorge with 300-metre-high vertical rock walls. Today, the river Ésera flows through this narrow gorge, which is also popular with sport climbers. In order to connect the towns of Campo and Seira in the south with the town of Castejón de Sos in the north, a road was completed through the gorge in 1916, which is a section of the N260 road. The stretch between Seira and Castejón de Sos is about 7 km long and at the north entrance of the gorge the road changes sides over a bridge. The road is well-maintained and generally easy to drive on. In the northern part of the gorge, however, the route is very narrow, so that you have to watch out for oncoming traffic. Particular care should be taken when large trucks use the route. The road is located in the province of Huesca, in the region of Aragon.
