Description

For a distance of about 35 km, the D662 balcony-road led from west to east, from the village of Vers to the village of Cajarc through the Vallée du Lot / Gorges du Lot always passing on the north side of the Lot river. There are some wide stretches in the valley, where fields and some tree stands have to be passed. In other, narrow places, the road is cut out of the rock, resulting in some quite high rock faces. There are also a few tunnels along the route. There are a few small villages along the route. Overall, the route is easy to drive. The best time of day to drive, at least in the west/east direction, is early afternoon. The road is located in the Lot department, in the Occitanie region.

This route belongs to the so-called "French Balcony Roads".
