The SP294 road connects the village of Angolo Terme in the province of Brescia in the south with the village of Dezzo di Scalve in the province of Bergamo in the north. The road is just under 12 km long and runs alongside the Dezzo River, which has carved its bed into the rock here.

The route was made safer in the 1960s with the construction of several long tunnels. However, there are still large sections where you can enjoy the drive with an unobstructed view of the gorge and the river.

Coming from the south, about 3.5 km before Dezzo di Scalve, you can visit the old route on foot. From here, you can explore the narrowest part of the gorge on the old road for about 2 km. In reference to a special route in Switzerland, this section of the route is also called Viamala.

The road is located in the Italian province of Brescia in the Lombardy region.
