Description

From Sainte-Eulalie-en-Royans, the D518 road leads eastwards through a narrow mountain cut dug by the river La Vernaison. This valley is the border between the regions Isère in the north and Drôme in the south. The road continues first to the east then to the south-east until after approx. 10 km Les-Baraques-en-Vercors is reached. In the last part of the route one finds the Grands Goulets, which have been damaged by rockfalls, closed since 2008 and replaced by a parallel tunnel.
