Description

The road over the Col des Champs connects the eastern village of Saint-Martin-d'Entraunes in the Alpes-Maritimes department with the western village of Colmars in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department. A pass height of 2083 meters is overcome. The eastern approach is the road D78, which leads in numerous serpentines over about 16 km up the mountain. The road is well built and runs mostly in wooded areas until the upper third. All in all, the road is easy to drive on if caution is exercised. In the upper part, the road becomes somewhat narrower, but is still easily passable. The Col des Champs pass is located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
