Description

The village of Villars-sur-Var is located around 40 kilometres north of Nice. The access road to this village branches off to the north from the main road D6202, the connecting road from Nice to Entrevaux. Only 2.5 km have to be covered to reach the centre of the village, which lies slightly above the main road. At the western, upper end of the village, the D226 road begins, which leads over the Col de la Madone de Thiéry to the small village of Thiéry. It is about 11.5 km to the top of the pass (1165 metres) and another 2 km from the pass to Thiéry. This route is a dead end for normal road vehicles. The road is well constructed but narrow and confusing in many places. With a little care, however, the road is easy to drive on.

The road is located in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the province of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.
