Col de la Madone de Gorbio, Road D53/D22, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France – by motorcycle

Description

The route over the Col de la Madone de Gorbio, which is about 925 metres high, was and is a popular training route for cyclists, which is often ridden from the coastal town of Menton. However, the section of the route shown begins in the village of Peille and leads after just under 11 km to the village of Sainte-Agnès. About 2 km after Peille, at the Col de Saint-Pancrace, you have to turn left from the D53 road onto the D22 secondary road. After another 4 km you will reach the top of the pass. The last part of the route in particular offers a beautiful view over the coastal town of Menton and the Mediterranean Sea. There are also several tunnels to go through along the entire route. The route is well-maintained and easy to ride. Near the top of the pass and from there to Saint-Agnès, the road is somewhat narrower. Nevertheless, you can pass oncoming traffic quite easily. The road is in the province of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and there in the department of Alpes-Maritimes / Maritime Alps.
